Route/Location:
East Ridge of Straight Peak. Fish Creek Area. Super gloppy on the skins, made travel very difficult. Lots of bushwacking and tired legs.
Weather:
Muckily warm down low, 9*C. snow falling around 5500′ s
Wind:
winds out of the NW gusting to Moderate. exposed slopes had a slight windcrust.
New Snow: 0-3″
Avalanche Activity:
None on the day of travel, but you could see evidence of numerous wet sluffs in the surrounding landscape
Other Comments:
OBS @ 6900′ N-NE aspect 28* slope
HS 235cm
CT12&14 Q1 down 20cm on a density change layer within the last storm snow
CT21&26 Q1 down 40cm on another density change
ECTN30 down 40cm
Did not like seeing the Q1s but the propensity to propagate just was not there. only dug down 120cm
we skied the slope.
